Busy weekend for island's police
Police car
Police had to call in extra officers to the incident
Guernsey police had to escort dozens of young visitors from Jersey off the island over the weekend.

It followed a disturbance in the centre of St Peter Port, said to have involved up to 30 people on Saturday afternoon.

Police say it was largely due to a combination of unusually hot weather and alcohol.

About eight people have been detained in Guernsey overnight and are due to appear before the Magistrate's Court on Monday.

The disturbance in St Peter Port, along with a number of other incidents elsewhere in the island, meant the police had an extremely busy weekend.

They say they arrested a total of 33 people between 1800 BST on Friday and 0600 BST on Monday.
