Woman injured in assault
Police car light
A man is being hunted by police after a woman suffered serious facial injuries after being attacked in Guernsey.

The assault happened in the Route de Cobo, near the entrance to Sausmarez Park Museum, at about 0115 BST on Saturday.

The woman received serious facial injuries in the assault before the man ran off up Rue de la Generotte.

The man is described as white, 5 foot 7 inches (1.68 metres) tall, average to slim build, and wearing a white T-shirt and dark trousers.

Police are keen to talk to anyone who may have seen the victim or attacker between Cobo butchers and the scene of attack.

They would also like to speak to two men to eliminate them from enquiries. One was sitting talking on a mobile phone behind the Cobo Bay Hotel and the second was near Cobo butchers looking for "Chester".

The police are also hoping to speak with the driver of a dark coloured taxi, possibly a people carrier, who passed the victim.
