Teenager in abduction attempt
Police in Cumbria are hunting a man who tried to abduct a teenage girl in Workington on Saturday.

The 15-year was walking along Newlands Lane, near Edinburgh Road, when a blue vehicle - possibly a Ford Escort - drew up beside her.

She says the car had "neon" lights at the front.

The man got out of the vehicle and asked the girl where she was going.

Local accent

He then grabbed her shoulder and tried to force her into his car.

She managed to struggle free and the man drove off.

The man is described as being of large build, 6ft tall, with short brown hair and was between 25 and 35-years-old.

He had a local accent and was wearing a dark polo shirt.

The police would like to speak to anyone who might have any information about the incident.
