Players had a lucky escape after the firebomb attack
Up to 30 people at a snooker club were forced to flee after a man tried to firebomb the building.

The attacker walked through a fire door at the Hotspot Snooker Centre in Bradford Road, Batley, West Yorkshire, at midnight on Saturday.

He hurled two devices inside the building but neither fully ignited.

The devices caused a small fire which customers and staff tackled.

The only description of the individual is that he was wearing a hooded top.

No-one was injured in the incident, but a spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said the people inside the club were lucky the incident was not more serious.

No-one was available at the club to comment.
