A car that was stolen at gunpoint was later used by five men in an armed robbery in Manchester.
Three people were forced to hand over a Subaru Impreza, which was then used in a raid at a Boots store in Longsight.
Masked robbers targeted the store in Stockport Road on Saturday and staff and customers were threatened with a crowbar before the contents of a safe and tills was taken.
One of the men kept watch outside the store during the raid, at 1330 BST, before all the men left the scene in the Subaru that was later found abandoned.
No injuries
Greater Manchester Police said the black Subaru was stolen in Heald Grove, Rusholme, in the early hours of Friday.
The occupants of the car were ordered out after a black BMW X5 drew alongside it at 0045 BST and both vehicles were driven away.
"No-one was injured in either incident and no shots were fired," a police statement confirmed.
Following the robbery on Saturday, the Subaru was driven off towards Stanley Grove and East Road, before being found abandoned on Butterwick Close, Gorton.
Police appealed for witnesses to either incident to get in touch.
Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who has information about where the Subaru, registration N35 DAT, was stored in the 36 hours before the robbery.
