Pensioner dies after road accident

An 89-year-old woman has died after a collision with a car in Bath.

The woman is believed to have been crossing Rossiter Road when she collided with a car on Saturday morning.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at 0715 BST.

Sergeant Dave Lowe told the BBC: "The driver of the only car involved stopped and called the emergency services.

"There are as yet no independent witnesses."

The pensioner has not been named.
