Two people have been killed in separate crashes on Saturday, causing major disruption on London roads.
A young motorcyclist was killed in the first crash - a hit and run involving several vehicles - at 0400 BST on the A40 Westway near the Paddington flyover.
Lanes were closed both ways on the road but it re-opened just after 1300 BST.
Two hours later a man was killed and a woman seriously injured on a stretch of the M25 on the Kent/Surrey border when their car was involved in a crash with a box van.
Paramedics tried to save the man, but he was pronounced dead shortly after the crash between junctions five and six.
The van driver suffered minor injuries.
There were 10-mile tailbacks on the clockwise carriageway and five-mile queues on the other side.
Both lanes were shut for hours after the crash while investigators tried to establish the cause of the accident.
The AA said diversion routes were solid with traffic and motorists travelling clockwise towards Gatwick Airport at junction seven faced long delays.
