Couple attacked by youths
A middle-aged couple suffered multiple injuries after being attacked by three youths in an attack in Northampton.

The couple left at party at Russet Drive in Little Billing in the town just after 0001 BST on Saturday when they were approached by the gang who asked for a cigarette.

When the 57-year-old man said he did not smoke he was thumped in the face and pushed to the ground where he was kicked repeatedly.

The three then attacked the 44-year-old woman.

Appeal for information

They stopped when they were disturbed by a neighbour looking out of his window.

The couple were treated in Northampton General Hospital.

Northampton police are appealing for information on 01604 700700.

The first and main attacker was described as black or mixed race, in his late teens or early 20s, six feet tall and of athletic build.

He was wearing a distinctive T-shirt with Gap 67 on the front. The other two youths were white and of similar build.
