Mystery man hit by bus
An elderly man has sustained serious injuries after being hit by a bus in Leicester but police say his family probably don't know about his injuries.

Officers are appealing for help to identify the pensioner who was knocked down in Belgrave at about 1500 BST on Friday.

The man is aged between 70 and 75 years old and of Asian background.

He was carrying a white stick and it is believed he may have difficulty seeing, as he has a cataract in his right eye.

Family concerns

He is being cared for in hospital but officers say they need to know who he is.

The man was hit by the bus at the junction between Belgrave Road and Loughborough Road.

Police have released a description of the man in the hope a family member or friends will get in touch.

He is described as 5 ft 6 in to 5 ft 8 in tall, of skinny build and with a grey beard.

When he was hit, he was wearing a white turban, blue trousers and a sandy coloured cardigan.
