Man dies after hit-and-run
A 23-year-old man has died after he was hit by a car that failed to stop in Greater Manchester.

The victim was crossing Oldham Road in Failsworth on Friday night when he was struck by a red or dark coloured Ford Escort-style car.

He was later taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Greater Manchester Police said on Saturday the car that hit him was last spotted travelling at speed along Oldham Road, towards Manchester.

A spokeswoman said the collision took place close to the junction with Pole Lane, just after 2330 BST.

Witnesses to the accident or anyone who saw the car after it left the scene should contact the traffic unit at Oldham police station.
