Hospital support group to close
A daily support group in Manchester for people with mental health problems is set to close.

Plans are being made to replace the Stables facility at Withington Hospital with an "at home" service, helping 30 people for six-week periods.

Facilities at the Stables include a cafe, manned by patients, a computer room, a rambling group, art and photography classes.

Residents say they are upset by the plans, which are due to be discussed at a meeting on Thursday.

A spokesman from the Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust said it was looking to develop new services.

It plans to announce what provisions will be made for the people who currently use the service later on Thursday.
