The plans aims to revive the docks

A road management plan is to be drawn up in a bid to boost economic development in a region of Lancashire.
On Monday, the Highways Agency revealed the proposal for a 10-year management plan for the Fylde coast route, with the aim of reviving the docks in Fleetwood.
The Route Management Strategy and Action Plan is being drawn up for the A585 main road, that runs from the M55 motorway, and links Kirkham with Fleetwood.
The study will look at relieving congestion, improving safety, and protecting the environment and will be the subject of a public consultation.
Draft strategy
Its aim is also to ease accessibility and provide better travel information on the route.
The study, the most involved and far-reaching consultation carried out on the route, will involve canvassing the views of road users, residents and local authorities.
Highways Agency Project Manager David Clark said:
"We want to know what people think about the A585, to learn more about its problems and to hear what people believe should be done to address them."
A seminar will be held with key stakeholders including local authorities early in the summer.
The seminar will seek to identify how well the route is performing, identify problems and prioritise solutions to be included in a draft strategy.
The public will then be given the opportunity to have their say before the final the strategy is published.
