Man in hospital after crane collision
A man has been seriously injured after he was involved in an accident with a crane as he walked along a dual carriageway.

It happened at about 0130 BST on Sunday on the westbound carriageway of the A14 near Brampton Hut in Cambridgeshire.

Police said the 27-year-old man, who is from the Huntingdon area, was walking in the carriageway when the accident happened.

He was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon but later transferred to Addenbrooke's in Cambridge where he is being treated for serious head injuries in a specialist unit.

The driver of the mobile crane, a 40-year-old man from Doncaster, was uninjured.

Police Constable Steve Edwards, who is investigating, said: "The crash happened 300 metres east of the Brampton Hut roundabout so it is possible that people who were using or who had just left the services could have witnessed the crash. If so I need to speak to them."
