Fund hope for crystal firm
glasses
The company went into receivership in May
A crystal company saved from bankruptcy could benefit from a fund set up to help struggling businesses.

Cumbria Crystal went into liquidation at the beginning of May but has now been bought by the owner of one of its biggest customers, Wedding List Services of London.

Harry Knowles, from Furness Enterprise, said not all of the firm's 20 staff would be kept on.

But he added that future plans for the firm - which counts the Royal family, British Embassies, and some of the world's richest yacht owners amongst its customers - were being laid.

He said: "Obviously we have to make sure we build up, probably five initially, then hopefully building it back up to the original 20.

"One of the other things that might be helpful to Cumbria Crystal is the launch of the new GlaxoSmithKline Enterprise Fund which will help companies who want to create jobs.

"As Cumbria Crystal builds up I will expect an application coming in."
