A school minibus carrying pupils has been involved in a crash outside a secondary school in Swansea.

Two children who were on the minibus and the driver of the car which was involved in the collision are understood to have been injured and have been taken to hospital for treatment.

The incident happened outside Daniel James Comprehensive School in Treboeth.

South Wales Police said they were investigating a collision between two vehicles which happened at around 1545BST on Wednesday just as pupils were leaving school for the day.

Swansea Local Education Authority later said they had been informed of the accident.

The spokesman said the pupils on the minibus were from Bishop Vaughan Catholic Comprehensive School in Swansea, which is near Daniel James Comprehensive.

The children were on their home from school in the minibus, which is operated by a company under contract from Swansea council.

A council spokesman said there would be an investigation based on reports from the police.
