Girl, 8, grabbed around throat
An eight-year-old girl was grabbed around the throat by an attacker who tried to abduct her, say police.

The girl was playing in the Woodgate Road area of Bexhill in East Sussex, when the man approached her.

He grabbed her and then tried to drag her off.

The attacker was disturbed by calls from the girl's friend, who was nearby.

The eight-year-old managed to break free and run to safety.

The incident happened on Sunday between 1800 BST and 1900 BST.

Police said the man is described as having strawberry-blonde wavy hair, aged between 35 and 45 years old and was wearing a blue shirt.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to contact Sussex Police.
