Changes approved to celebrity home
Sam Mendes and Kate Winslet
The couple's house is worth more than £3m
Actress Kate Winslet and her director husband Sam Mendes have won their planning fight to renovate parts of their Cotswold manor house.

The couple own the Grade II listed manor house at Church Westcote, near Bourton on the Water.

The pair had applied to carry out extensive refurbishment on both the interior and exterior of the building.

But concerns had been raised that the work would change the building's character.

And planning officers initially recommended that councillors should refuse the plans.

Members of the authority have now given their backing to some of the proposals.

The original application included plans to remove walls and partitions, build new internal stairs and make alterations to the porch and chimneys.
