A man who is alleged to have driven a stolen car into a policeman in north Wales has been remanded in custody at Mold Crown Court.

Patrick Michael Clegg, who is 35 and from the Coventry area, will appear in court again next month.

He is charged with attempted murder, aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving.

PC Osian Wyn Davies was at a road block near Coed Helen Holiday Park in Caernarfon when he was hit by a car on 18 June.

He was treated in Ysbyty Gwynedd Bangor with a broken skull and leg injuries and is now recovering at home.

Mr Clegg faces six charges in all.

He is also charged with armed robbery in Gloucestershire on 14 June and with stealing a vehicle.

He is further accused of dangerous driving and having no licence and insurance.

He was sent for trial at crown court after an appearance at Bangor magistrates court on 20 June.
