GP in court over patient's death
A GP has appeared in court charged with killing one of his patients.

Dr Narendra Sinha, 67, is accused of manslaughter in connection with the death of Maureen Lyth.

He was working as a locum in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, at the time of death in September 2001.

Mrs Lyth, who was in her 60s, is alleged to have died following an injection of morphine.

Dr Sinha, from Liverpool, appeared before Chester magistrates on Wednesday.

The case was adjourned to Chester Crown Court on 14 July.

Dr Sinha, who is currently suspended from working as a doctor, was granted conditional bail.
