New timetable 'improves reliability'
First North Western train
First North Western hopes to improve reliability
A train operator has warned travellers to check their journey times after it unveiled its new summer timetable.

First North Western said it hoped the new roster would improve reliability on some services.

Changes to the timetable should also reduce overcrowding and delays, the company said.

Some services between Liverpool and Manchester will be combined to offer more stops at Birchwood station.

Denise Lennox, commercial director, said: "There may be minor changes to some services which our passengers will need to be aware of in the new timetable.

"We have made every effort to ensure that the changeover is as painless as possible for passengers, by ensuring posters at stations give information of any changes."
