Mother and girl, 4, vanish with sex offender
Kay Ti Tan and her daughter Arrisa
Mother and daughter have not been seen since 5 June
A woman whose daughter and granddaughter are believed to have run off with a convicted sex offender has begged them to return home.

Police think Kay Ti Tan, 37, and her four-year-old daughter Arrisa are in the company of Peter Kavanagh, 43, a registered sex offender.

They were last seen at their home in Fitzjohn Avenue, Hampstead, north London on 5 June when Arrisa's father dropped them off after a day out.

Mrs Ti Tan's green Renault car was found on Wednesday in the Exeter area, after a member of the public said it has been abandoned there for several days.

They are thought to have packed some clothing and travelled to the Irish Republic and may have been seen in Cork between 24 and 27 June.

They also have connections in Somerset and Cornwall.

Mr Kavanagh has been recalled to prison for breach of licence

Police say there is no evidence to suggest Mr Kavanagh has harmed the girl but say they are "obviously concerned for her safety while she is in his company". But the mother does not know Mr Kavanagh is a registered sex offender.

Arrisa's grandmother Gisela Abe said she feared for her family's safety.

She made a direct plea to her daughter, who police describe as "vulnerable", to get in touch.

'Come home'

She said: "I desperately need to know that they are safe and well. Kay Ti, if you are reading this, please contact the police and let them know you are all right.

"You are not in any trouble, I just want you and Arrisa to come home."

Police are warning anyone who might see the three not to approach them, but to contact local police immediately.

Mr Kavanagh is 5 ft 5 in tall with a number of tattoos on his left arm, one on his right and an inch-long scar beneath his nose.

He has been recalled to prison for breach of licence after missing a meeting with his probation officer.
