Better service for rural readers
Two new mobile libraries are taking to the roads of East Yorkshire.

The new vehicles, which cost £90,000 each, have been bought by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, to improve its library coverage.

They offer a lending and reference service, a special children's area, and IT facilities.

Villages to be covered by the new libraries include Gilberdyke, Skidby, Keyingham and Thorngumbald.

Jon Mager, the council's director of lifelong learning, said: "The new state of the art mobile libraries reflect our position as the leading council in the country for library services.

"I would like to congratulate everyone involved in the scheme."
