German student shoots teacher
Police remove the student's body from the school
The motive for the shooting is not clear
A student has died and a teacher has been injured in a shooting at a school in the German state of Bavaria, police say.

A 16-year-old student at Realschule II in Coburg drew a weapon in class and threatened his teacher, a police spokeswoman told BBC News Online.

The boy shot a second teacher in the leg when she came into the classroom and tried to intervene.

The student, whose name has not yet been released, then turned the gun on himself.

No other students were injured in the incident.

The motive for the shooting is not yet known.

Police in Coburg, located about 145 miles (230 km) north of Munich, say that psychologists are counselling the children.

Last year, 16 people died in a shooting at a school in the town of Erfurt.

An expelled student went on the rampage armed with two guns, which it later transpired he had acquired legally.

He then killed himself.

The tragedy shocked Germany and led to calls for a tightening of gun laws.
