One dead, seven hurt in crash

The crash happened in Rowms Lane at Swinton
One person has died and seven others have been injured in a road accident in Swinton, South Yorkshire.

The crash happened around 2330 BST Saturday on Rowms Lane when a Vauxhall Astra collided with a Peugeot 405.

A 24-year-old man from the Bentley area of Doncaster, who was travelling in the Vauxhall, died.

Four others, all from the Mexborough area, who were travelling with him suffered injuries that include fractured limbs, head injuries and a broken nose.

Three people from Swinton who were in the Peugeot are also being treated for injuries that include a broken jaw and a fractured sternum.
