Man arrested after machete attack

Jersey Police are questioning a man about a possible machete attack.

A 45-year-old man was arrested at Snow Hill early on Saturday morning.

A machete knife was recovered from the area.

Police are searching for another man who was seen in the area at about 0200.

Offence inquiries

Inspector John Sculthorpe is leading the investigation.

He said: "We understand from witnesses nearby that a male was seen in the area. He had blood on his face and his clothing.

"We'd like to speak to this male for two reasons.

"Firstly, to ascertain his own welfare, and, secondly, to find out if there have been any offence committed in connection with this incident."
