Scene of the accident
Firefighters had to use heavy cutting equipment to rescue trapped youths
Two youths had to be cut from the wreckage of their car after a crash involving three cars on the outskirts of north Belfast.

The accident happened on the Ballyhenry Road at about 2130 BST on Friday.

Five males were treated in hospital after the crash.

Four youths had been travelling in one of the cars.

Tim Entwhistle of the Fire Service said their car was in danger of catching fire when firefighters arrived on the scene.

He said they had to use heavy cutting equipment to rescue two youths trapped in the car.

"One of the individuals was quite severely trapped in the vehicle. He was basically pushed under the dashboard and had suffered head injuries and other multiple injuries.

"We had to remove the roof completely from the vehicle, plus take one side out of the vehicle."
