Man denies causing road deaths
A Shropshire man has pleaded not guilty to causing the deaths of two young women in a car crash in the county.

Ian Roberts, 23, from Grindley Brook, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving after his BMW was in collision with a Peugeot on the Whitchurch bypass last September.

Mr Roberts' passenger, 17-year-old Laura Reynolds, from Whitchurch, died at the scene of the crash.

The Peugeot driver, Louise Evans, a 26-year-old student from Wellington, died later in hospital.

Mr Roberts was remanded on bail by the judge at Shrewsbury Crown Court while arrangements are made for his trial.

The trial is expected to last at least a week.
