Man questioned over sexual assaults

Essex Police have continued to question a 37-year-old man being held on suspicion of about 30 sexual assaults.

The man, from Ongar near Brentwood, was brought to Colchester police station on Friday night.

On Saturday detectives were granted an additional 12 hours to question the man.

The investigation follows the search of the married father-of-two's home in Ongar on Friday morning.

The spokesman said the man was picked up in connection with allegations of attempted rape, indecent assault, indecent exposure and gross indecency.

These include incidents in Chelmsford and Colchester that have been under investigation since last year.
