A woman in the car was killed

A woman has been killed after a car she was travelling in was involved in a collision with a Nottinghamshire fire engine.
The engine, sent out from Dunkirk Fire Station, was making its way to an accident on the Gunthorpe Bridge which had involved a petrol tanker.
The fire truck then collided with a car on the main road through Burton Joyce about 1600 BST on Friday.
The female car passenger died at the scene, while the male driver has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A Nottinghamshire Fire Service spokesman said officers worked quickly to help rescue the people trapped in the car.
An investigation has been launched into how the accident happened.
The A612 through Burton Joyce was closed to traffic for much of the afternoon while the police carried out their enquiry.
