Officers suspended over busker's death

Two more police officers have been suspended following the death of a busker in Shrewsbury.

Robert Hall, 42, collapsed and died after being taken into custody.

West Mercia Police suspended one officer last month as part of their investigation into Mr Hall's death.

Mr Hall died in hospital on 3 April after becoming ill following his arrest for being drunk and disorderly on Pride Hill, Shrewsbury.

An inquiry into his death is being carried out by Detective Superintendent Clive Harding of West Mercia Constabulary's major incident unit, under the supervision of the Police Complaints Authority (PCA).

PCA member Jennifer Rogers said: "The investigation is expected to last for several more weeks after which a full report will be submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service and H M Coroner for Mid and North Shropshire."
