New appeal over jewellery robbery
The jewellers in Peterborough
Two armed raiders struck at the jewellers in Exchange Street
A robbery where jewellery worth £100,000 was stolen from a shop in Cambridgeshire is being reinvestigated - 15 years on.

Police hope new information will help them catch the two armed raiders who robbed the jewellers in Exchange Street, Peterborough, on 22 November 1988.

The manager of the jewellers shop was opening up when he was hit over the head with a handgun and tied up by the two men.

A woman witness was locked in a cupboard before the men got away with the contents of the safe.

One of the robbers was described as white, in his 20s, 6 feet tall and smartly dressed with a checked cap.

The other, also white, was in his late 20s, 6 ft 2 in and with black hair.

Officers are not revealing what new information they have, but hope that 15 years on, whoever has been protecting the men will help finally bring them to justice.
