Girl shot with airgun

A 12-year-old girl from Corby is recovering after being shot with an airgun.

On Tuesday a Northamptonshire Police spokesman said the pellet hit Cheryl Bourke in the arm.

She was fired on from behind, as she walked through an alleyway off Shire Road on Friday night.

The youth who fired the gun is thought to be about 18-years-old and was seen with three other teenagers at the time.

Northamptonshire Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
