Thieves threaten man with axe

A man was threatened with an axe when he tried to stop thieves stealing his trailer in Shropshire.

The 55-year-old man, from Much Wenlock, jumped into his trailer as it was being towed away.

Two men hooked the trailer up to a white Astra van, which police believe has been used in several crimes in the Bridgnorth and south Shropshire areas.

The man jumped inside the trailer and hung on as the thieves drove away.

But the van stopped and one of the men threatened him with an axe before driving off.

The incident happened last Wednesday.

West Mercia Police are appealing for information.
