A Shropshire teacher has become the design and technology teacher of the year after winning a national award.
Charles Denscombe, from Belvidere School, in Shrewsbury, won the award for his contribution to design and technology.
James Dyson, inventor of the see-through Dyson vacuum cleaner, presented Mr Denscombe with the award at the annual ceremony of the Design and Technology Association at the Royal Society, in London.
He was given the award for his outstanding contribution to design and technology and to the development of electronics.
Paul Clewes, Shropshire County Council's curriculum adviser for design and technology, said: "I am very pleased that Charles Denscombe's excellent teaching has been recognised with this high-profile award.
"Design and technology is popular with pupils in Shropshire and Charles makes a superb contribution to the vitality and excitement with which the subject is approached."
During his teaching career Charles has continually adopted new techniques and technologies and brought them to life in the classroom, said Mr Clewes.
