Appeal for fire death clues
House
The family home was destroyed in the fire
Six months after a mother-of-four was killed in an arson attack, police say they still have no clues as to who started the fire.

The attack happened in the early hours of 1 December 2002 at a house in Cookes Drive, Broughton Astley in Leicestershire.

Despite frantic attempts by neighbours to save her, 47-year-old child minder Sue MacDonald was killed.

Her partner, Rod Harrison, escaped by jumping from an upstairs window.

Community answer

The pair had been due to marry this year.

Officers believe the fire was started deliberately when something was pushed through the front door.

Superintendent Graham Thomas from Leicestershire Police said: "We've worked extremely hard to conclude this particular case, we have spoken to hundreds of witnesses.

"I feel that the answer lies amongst the community of Broughton Astley itself.

"There is somebody who has information which is vital to allow us to progress this case to a successful conclusion."

Anyone who thinks they might be able to help is urged to contact Leicestershire police.
