Two chemical tanks have been removed from a former chemical waste reprocessing plant in the county.

The Cleansing Service Group's (CSG) toxic waste plant at Sandhurst was recently sold, but is still the subject of some controversy.

In October 2000, it was the scene of a fire and a series of explosions.

People living close to the site have also now been told that a survey is to be carried out to assess any health implications the explosions could have caused.

The tanks were used for the mixing and storage of different chemicals.

They were escorted by the police during their journey to other CSG sites in the UK.

The old site has been bought by an architectural reclamation company.
