Three attacked in violent robbery

Police have appealed for information from the public

Three people have escaped injury after a violent robbery in County Down.

They were driving home into the Beaufort Estate at Scrabo, Newtownards, just after midnight on Thursday when two cars blocked their path.

Four men wearing balaclavas and carrying baseball bats got out and began smashing their car and demanded money.

They pulled property from the car onto the road before making off in one of the cars.

The other car was left blocking the victims' vehicle.

The three people suffered shock and police have appealed for anyone with any information about the attack to contact them.
