Priest 'not guilty' of assault

A priest has been acquitted of indecently assaulting a teenage girl by Enniskillen Crown Court.

Father Joseph John Quinn, 36, from the Parochial House in Dungannon, County Tyrone, had been accused of touching the girl's breast when she visited him at the Parochial House in 1995.

The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, also alleged that the Catholic priest had tried to kiss her when he gave her a tour of the house.

The jury deliberated for nearly an hour on Thursday before returning a unanimous not guilty verdict.
