This grand body is presided over by the equally grand former French President Valerie Giscard d'Estang and the political heat is rising because it is about to publish its draft constitution for the European Union.
Iain Duncan Smith attempted to bring the issue to the boil at Prime Minster's Question Time, pressing Tony Blair to agree to a referendum on the outcome.
Our Europe Correspondent Paola Buonadonna has been on the trail of the top players in this political drama and Jeremy will be talking to the Cabinet Minister responsible, Peter Hain.
Who knows, we might even pop him a question about the Euro, given the announcement that Gordon Brown will give us the verdict on the famour five Tests on 9 June.
We've also got a very distinguished guest reporter this week. Shadow Home Secretary, Oliver Letwin, has been to the US for the Politics Show to tell us why Abraham Lincoln should provide the inspiration for the modern British Conservative Party. We'll be probing Mr Letwin on what this might mean for the Tory Party policy.
