Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward

Detectives are hunting a gang of four men who attacked and raped a teenage woman.

The 17-year-old victim was out in Bedford on Wednesday night with two friends when the attack took place.

They were approached by a group of five men in a new silver 4x4-type of vehicle at about 2030 BST in Greyfriars.

The girls agreed to go with them to Priory Marina.

Teenager raped

Between 2230 BST and 2300 BS one girl left the group, and was followed and raped.

An incident room has been set up at Greyfriars police station.

A spokesman for Bedfordshire Police said the young woman has been devastated by the attack.

He said detectives were appealing for help from witnesses who saw the vehicle at Geryfriars, at Tesco, Cardington Road, or Priory Marina.
