Teenager dies after car hits tree
A 15-year-old girl from Essex has died after a Mercedes driven by another teenager hit a tree.

On Monday, an Essex Police spokeswoman said Camilla Hamilton, who was a passenger in the car, was declared dead at the scene of the accident after being injured in the crash.

Ms Hamilton, from Littley Green, near Chelmsford, was in Mercedes ML 4x4 being driven by another 15-year-old along Twinstead Road, Pebmarsh, near Halstead, at about 2145 BST on Saturday when the accident occurred.

The car left the road and collided with some trees.

The spokeswoman said the driver of the vehicle, from the Halstead area, has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently on police bail until 23 July 2003.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Bocking Road Policing unit on 01376 330722.
