Man injured in wall collapse

The man was trapped under masonry when the wall collapsed

A man has been injured after part of a wall collapsed on him in County Armagh.

The incident happened on the Garvaghy Road in Portadown on Thursday, at a site where a new shop is being built.

The man, who is in his 50s, was trapped under masonry for a time.

He was taken to Craigavon Area hospital where he was later described as being in a stable condition.

A number of workmen on the site managed to avoid injury when the building collapsed without warning.
