Sexual Perversity in Chicago: Your views
Hank Azaria and Matthew Perry, picture by Manuel Harlan
The play is running at London's Comedy Theatre
Hollywood stars Matthew Perry and Minnie Driver appear in a new West End production of David Mamet's play, Sexual Perversity in Chicago.

The play sees Danny (Perry) embark on an affair with his colleague Deborah (Kelly Reilly) but the couple's respective best friends (Hank Azaria and Driver) are not impressed.

"The acting is not good enough, nor the Perversity perverse enough, to justify giving Mamet's dated diatribes another airing," said BBC News Online's Neil Smith.

But what do you think?

Did the celebrities live up to your expectations? What did you think of the play itself?

I found my self laughing from start to finish especially due to Hank Azaria¿s performance as Bernie. The open scene between Bernie and Danny (Matt Perry) was a fantastic depiction of what, I¿m sure still continues in bars today as well as in the 70s of a promiscuous man¿s description of the night before.

During the show the humour got darker and the acting become smoother and more fluent. A fantastic play of short scenes and a cracking sound track between set changes. This is truly a great show not only from a sociological perspective on the attitudes of sex and relationships but also from the frank discussion and humour of what people still find a difficult subject to be completely open about with others. I found this great as I don¿t particularly like theatre!

I thought SPinC was a great production, it was smooth and flowed well. The play still stands the test of time, and I don't see why a play can't work just because its content is not of the present climate. I don't see a problem with Hollywood actors being on the West End stage, an actor is an actor and plenty of stage actors make their transition from stage to screen - why not the other way round? Congrats to the cast and the director for a great performance, and enjoy a sucessful six month run.
