Two Nottinghamshire policemen who rescued a woman during the fire strike have been nominated for an award.
In November of last year Stuart Hazard and Paul McLaughlin volunteered to attend the fire as they knew the armed forces would have to travel a considerable distance to attend the scene.
The two men found the building alight and filled with black smoke but still managed to find the woman upstairs and bring her to safety.
Their efforts were praised by local firemen who crossed the picket lines to attend the incident.
The men's rescue will now go before judges to select Britain 10 most outstanding life savers.
The winners will be announced later this summer
