Tributes for Saudi bomb victim

One of the victims of the Saudi Arabia suicide bombing was an American who lived in Worcestershire with his wife and two sons.

The victim, who has not been named, had lived with his family in Wychbold, near Droitwich, for about 12 months.

The triple suicide bombings killed at least 34 people in the capital, Riyadh, on Monday night.

Eleanor Sinton, head teacher at Wychbold First and Nursery School, in Worcestershire, said staff were "very shocked" after learning that the father of one of their pupils, an eight-year-old boy, was among the dead.

Mrs Sinton said, after hearing the news on Wednesday morning, the school had prayed for the family during assembly.

It is understood the father spent long periods away from home working in Saudi.

Mrs Sinton said the other son, 12, attended a secondary school elsewhere in the county.

"The whole school was very shocked when we heard the news," Mrs Sinton said.

"We feel desperately sorry for the children who have lost their father and for the lady who has lost her husband.

"They are a lovely family with two beautiful children. This has come as a dreadful shock."

Mrs Sinton said a candle had been lit and special prayers had been said for the family.
