Fourteen arrests in drugs raids
Police raids
Drugs are a high priority for Operation Target
Drug squad officers arrested 14 people in a series of early morning raids.

They targeted 12 addresses in West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, Humber, Northumbria and Merseyside on Wednesday.

The raids were the culmination of an 18-month operation run by the West Yorkshire Drug Squad, backed up by local forces.

Arrests were made on suspicion to supply class A and class B drugs.

The raids were part of West Yorkshire Police's crime cutting campaign - Operation Target.

Detective Inspector Steve Payne, said "The aim of the operation was to target the higher echelons of criminals involved in the supply chain and take them out of action."

He pledged targeting organised criminal groups who traffic drugs would continue to be a priority for West Yorkshire Police.
