Man quizzed on assault is bailed

The man was questioned by police at Wrexham

A man arrested and questioned over the attempted murder of his brother has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

The 23-year-old from Saltney on the north Wales/Cheshire border was detained in custody at Wrexham police station.

His 21-year-old brother is seriously ill at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

He has suffered stab wounds to his neck and has serious head injuries.

Police were called to an alleged disturbance at the Anchor Hotel in Saltney in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The area was cordoned off by police on Sunday afternoon and forensic officers were drafted in to look for evidence.
