X-ray department update proposed
Princess Elizabeth Hospital, Guernsey
New computerised x-ray equipment is proposed

The Board of Health is asking Guernsey States for £1.3m to revamp the island's x-ray department.

The request comes in the Billet, which is up for debate at the end of the month.

With the radiology department at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital facing an increasing workload, the cash is wanted to upgrade the current radiology department.

The Board says a new computerised system will have far-reaching benefits for the island.

It says the new equipment will increase efficiency and enable the department to maintain current service levels.

Savings should also be made, but whether that will be enough to convince the States to part with such a sum of money remains to be seen.
