Fatal house fire was 'accident'
Fire at James Street, Rotherham
The family were overcome with smoke and fire gases
A house fire which killed three members of the same family was a tragic accident, police say.

Sumera Tazeem, 23, her four-month-old son Arshad Hussain and brother-in-law Mohammed Idrees, 16, died in the fire.

Firefighters were called to the semi-detached property in James Street, Rotherham, on Tuesday at 0230 BST.

A post-mortem examination revealed the victims died from the inhalation of smoke and fire gases.

South Yorkshire Police say the fire started near the television set in the downstairs lounge and quickly spread throughout the house.

Firefighters said no smoke alarms had been fitted in the property.

Detective Inspector Terry Mann said: "This has been a terrible and tragic accident and our sympathies go out to the husband and family and friends of the deceased."

The inquest into the deaths is due to be opened at Rotherham Law Courts on 26 June.
