The Highways Agency is to begin a maintenance project on a one-kilometre section of the A449 near Hindlip in Worcestershire on Monday.
The work involves resurfacing the carriageway, placing yellow bar markings on the approach to junctions and laying white lines and studs.
Highways Agency project sponsor Wayne Norris said: "We recognise that this section of the A449, which is the approach to the roundabout for junction six (of the M5), is a busy road.
"Taking this into consideration we will only be carrying out work overnight from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
"The contract is planned to last for seven to eight days."
He added that the eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight while the work is carried out.
